January Whitword Event

We had a storming start to 2015 with our January WhitWord event when our guest speaker was the wonderful Peggy Riley.

Author of ‘Amity & Sorrow’ Peggy gave really useful information, advice and tips for writers at all stages of the process, with a good Q & A session. Her advice included editing tips, how to approach agents, and what happens after your book has been accepted by a publisher. Her generous sharing of her own experiences, and what has worked for her, was greatly appreciated by all of us. – I will ask her back again!

*Don’t forget, Peggy is running a creative writing workshop at WhitLit’s Writers Day on Saturday 9th May

11th November 2014

Thanks to all the WhitWordians who were able to make it for our inaugural meeting on the 11th November. It was a fantastic turnout for our first event and I hope you all enjoyed hearing about Victoria Falconer’s experiences as she brought Whitstable’s first literary festival to fruition this year. She also had some exciting titbits for the programme for May 2015.
I also hope you liked the relaxed atmosphere at the Horsebridge Café which is what I’m aiming for, a chance to meet new like-minded people in a social setting.
